Chanshal peak (13,200 ft/ 3755mtrs) is the highest peak in the Shimla district. Chanshal pass is accessible by road from May to November. Chanshal Lake/Saru Lake is only 8kms from Chanshal top. Chanshal lake trek is a short trek of only 4 days. If you are a first time trekker then Chanshal Lake Trek is ideal for you. It is almost a straight trek of 8kms with few slopes. The trek starts from Chanshal Pass itself. It is truly a heaven for nature lovers.
Itineraries
Day 1
Shimla – Larot By road(150 kms, 7-8 hrs)
In the morning gather at a pre defined place and welcomes by our representative/driver in the morning. Drive through Green valley, Kufri, Theog, Kharapathar and Rohru. Enroute Lunch(on own). Reach Larot till evening. Team meetup and a briefing about trek. Evening snacks and tea along with Dinner served at Larot. Overnight stay at Larot.

Meals:- Evening snacks, Dinner.
Day 2
Larot – Chanshal Pass – Saru Lake (Approx 6 hrs)
In the morning you can visit the surroundings. Post breakfast and drive towards Chanshal Pass. Take a small halt at Chanshal Pass. The place is full of picturesque locations. The trek starts from Chanshal Pass and passes through beautiful meadows. It is an easy trek & takes around 04 hrs to reach Saru Lake. Hot lunch will be served at Saru Lake. Dinner and overnight stay at Saru Lake.

Day 3
Saru Lake – Larot (Approx 5 hrs)
Day 4
Larot - Shimla
Post breakfast and drive back towards Shimla.
Trip ends here with lifetime memories
- Transportation from Shimla to Larot and from Larot to Shimla by cab(Trax/Bolero).
- Meals:- Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Snacks, Tea, dinner. Major Meals starting from Dinner at Larot on first day and breakfast at last day of trek.
- Trek Guide, Cook, helpers and porters for carrying camping equipment, ration and common supplies.
- Accommodation:- Camps on triple sharing basis, sleeping bags mattress.
